Jerrell Blackwell
Fiscal Officer at Michigan State University, Office of the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean of Undergraduate Studies "I am a Lansing native; I grew up on the west side, living with my mother and two brothers - as middle child I can say we are the best! I graduated from J.W. Sexton High School (shoulda been a Big Red!!!) in 2005, where I played football and ran track. After graduating from Sexton, I attended Jackson State University (a historically black university) in Jackson, Mississippi to earn my first Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. After moving back home to Lansing, I decided to attend Northwood University in Midland, Michigan to earn my second Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. During my time in Jackson, I interned with the State of Mississippi in their Procurement and Business Development business center. After graduating from Jackson State University, the State of Mississippi offered me a position in their Accounting/Grants department. I moved back home and started my career at Michigan State University in 2014. I am a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Incorporated (06666666!). I’m a big lover of working out and staying fit and sports (mostly college football, basketball and NBA). I love anime cartoons and fantasy, detective fiction, mythology such as Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief, and the Last Apprentice." Contact us here to become Jerrell's mentee! |

Anthony Owens
Manager of Commissions and Compensation at Ciox Health "I live in Atlanta, GA with my wife and daughter, Jasmine and Jayli. I am originally from Orlando, Florida. Once I graduated high school I decided to work in banking for SunTrust Bank, handling low level investments and loans instead of furthering my education. I quickly realized the importance of education and completed my undergraduate degree with University of Phoenix in Business and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Business Administration at University of Georgia. For a majority of my career I have had the pleasure of working for some of the best organizations while expanding my breadth of perspective in the marketplace. I have worked for organizations such as Regions Bank, Bank of America, WorldPay, Cisco, and UPS on projects spanning from compensation to predictive modeling and forecasting. Today I work for Ciox Health managing commissions and compensation for roughly 600 sales and service personnel. My wife and I also own a photography company and are very active in our Church."
